Honor Among Thieves?

There is no right for someone to take or claim property that do not belong to them. This is honestly called thievery and being a thief is wrong. People work hard for what they have, so why should anyone take what they worked for away? When someone's house is robbed and everything is taken the people living there may have lost everything they worked for. It is not fair for someone to take everything away.
If I were to take away a lollipop from a child I would be in the wrong because it did not belong to me in the first place. The right thing to do would be for me to get my own by not stealing or taking one from someone, but by buying my own lollipop.
The only exception in stealing something is maybe if a mother's child was dying and her only solution was stealing medicine because she could not afford it. If it was her last resort maybe she could ask and get help but to save someone's life is important especially if it is a child because that child could be great in the future.
I think taking property without a legitimate excuse is not right because someone else worked for their car, money that they have, and whatever else they work for.

  1. You present a great ethical dilemma with the mother and her sick child. Great job!
